My wife and I bought 7 gallons of pool paint from The Color Wheel at $42.39 a gallon to paint our pool as we are in the process of putting our home up for sale. Our total bill for this paint was $321.21 with the tax. We had our pool all prepared for this paint. Six gallons of this paint went on beautifully and with no problem. The 7th gallon was much thinner, and when it dried was much lighter than the rest. My wife called Dennis, the owner of The Color Wheel and told him what had happened. She said that the last gallon should be replaced at no charge as we were going to have to repaint that part of the pool again. We had to have another gallon besides as the paint was so much thinner. It soaked into the pool surface much faster, and so we ran out of paint before the pool was finished. Dennis retaliated that we should have known better than to put the paint on if it was thinner, that it wasn't his fault, they hadn't touched it, they hadn't opened it, and he'd replace the paint, but we'd pay for it or we wouldn't get it. He said he wasn't going to argue with my wife, and he didn't need customers like us (just needed our $321.21) and he hung.
We found out he had given us one can with a different color lot number. The idiot who owns a paint store doesn't know you're not supposed to mix different paint lot numbers. Dennis also has a lovely, white cement parking lot with a rope across it and a sign on it saying "Employee Parking Only" Customers have to park across the street in a crummy lot full of holes. Benjamin Moore replaced the 2 cans of paint for nothing and apologized for the obnoxious, overbearing, idiot Dennis.
