Our Runner's World sub ran out and we did not want to renew and we promptly threw away notifications of renewal. Little did we know that Rodale Inc. Has instituted very unethical policy of using North Shore Agency to pursue these payment on these opt out programs. We do not believe that this will impact our credit as Rodale said they will send us a notice stating that North Shore Agency is simply a part of the billing process (ONE massive mistake). However, this is happening for all of their magazine brands.
Please note that we have noted all their brands and will likely avoid them all in the near and distant future. This unethical approach or strategy should be illegal. It certainly has the stench of the lowest form of business ethics in practice today.
I thought it would be helpful to others out there that the following magazines are likely bad news as well.
Men's Health,
Prevention,
Women's Health,
Runner's World,
Bicycling,
Running Times,
Organic Gardening,
Mountain Bike.
In addition, Rodale has a large book publishing arm and several websites that you might reconsider before making any purchases - books or subscriptions. Some of their websites include.
* Flat Belly Diet! Online
* The Biggest Loser Club - NBC should reconsider this relationship
* The Abs Diet Online
* Men's Health Personal Trainer
* Women's Health Fit Coach
I would guess that subscriptions to these sites will be met with the same opt out process for renewals.
