Upon reading some of the reports filed by you, the hard working, consumers of america, i felt it neccessary to include my little story...
Portfolio has changed the date on a debt they say i owe, when i questioned the re-date, they just confirmed the debt. Several of my credit reports show the re-dates. They will not send me the confirmation information i have requested except to tell me to review my credit report or pay the debt. So, in telling me to view my credit report, which if you guys didn't know, go to www.annualcreditreport.com, get your free copy once a year from all three bureaus, and dispute the reports of error. I just filed a complaint against this debt collector at www.ftc. Gov/credit. If more of you will complain against companies, we as consumers may get the respect we deserve. Also, on that website, it gives a link for consumers so that we can become aware of our rights, and what they can and cannot do.
