My first bill was double the rate for my supply portion. The customer service department in flowery language told me I would save over the long term. I've already paid double on my first bill, so I believe this is highly unlikely. We are talking about a 100% difference. Plus they still charged sales tax, despite the "permanent sale tax waiver" being advertised. On both counts they lied. When I tried to cancel my account, the representative would not stop talking over me, trying to bombard me with sales spiel and small print. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I got mysteriously cut off. Needless to say I did call back and cancel my accounts, switching back to Central Hudson. During the course of that conversation, the representative gave me "todays" rates, and they were still 30% more expensive than Central Hudson. The numbers dont lie. They cannot compete, and if they can, they wont pass on the savings to you and I. My recommendation? Dont switch.
