An unauthorized "Enhanced services" charge of $14.95 appeared on my telephone bill for mp3 downloads. I called 1 888 301-3724 as per guidance on the ATT bill. This ATT number in turn connected me to United Tel. The helpdesk person at United Tel said that it would take two months to remove the current charge plus a charge already made for the next bill. That person also suggested that I instruct ATT to ban third party charges, but not before the credit comes.
The helpdesk person also told me that the charge came via my wife's email. My wife tells me that that email is used as a decoy for commercial website registration.
My wife says she never ordered the services, which is true because no one in our household has ever downloaded mp3's, except for briefly 6 months ago through amazon.com.
The charge on the ATT statement looked like this:
