I received an email from UnitedTel on 3/31/09 that said "Thanks for signing up for FindYourDiet.com." only I never signed up for this. The email went on to say that a reoccuring monthly charge of $14.95 would be billed to my telephone bill.
I immediately replied to the email and told them that I never authorized this charge... And that I didn't sign up for this product/service. I told them that their activity was illegal and that I would be reporting that to the proper authorities.
I received an email from them that said:
I have canceled the account. There will be a charge from our company on your next telephone bill. I have issued a credit for this charge that will appear on either the same bill or the following. No future charges will occur. The charge was for a product called FindYourDiet.com. It is an online dieting program. Normally the way something like this is signed up for is through an online survey, quiz, or applying to win something. Thank you.
