My girlfriend was scouted by TCTalent in a restaurant while we were visiting Nashville. We attended the open call in 03/23/03. My girlfriend is actually very pretty, and she always wanted to be a model, so we thought this was a God-given message that she should pursue the career of model. She was always the prettiest, and she was a model when she was in Korea. And we didn't have a single doubt that this was a scam.
During their open call, they showed NSYNC, Tyson, and many other famous people in their tape. It was very promising, and handled with professional manner saying they won't take money out of our pocket.
They called her few days later, telling her that they never seen a pretty face like hers. They acted like they were the busiest people. Anyway, so she paid $800 for posting pictures on their website. We were pumped up and i thought she would become famous immediately.
Also we both paid for the Super Star Search Competition which will be held in Miami Florida in August. My girlfriend paid $895. And i paid $895 for the guest fee. I know it is non-refundable, and we regret doing this.
AND we just found out usacomplaints.com, today. And we are mad as hell. And we are definitely not going to Miami.
After TCtalent open call, my girlfriend attended many other open calls which is for free. They all liked my girlfriend. She made her own comp-cards, and she is about to have a contract with many non-exclusive agencies.
Also, nothing happened even though her pretty face were on their web-site. She had many professionally done pictures, so she posted many pictures on the web.
Well, i'm speechless right now after finding out this was a scam. We lost about $2600.
I believe the TCTalent's contract says we must not contact agency. Is that true? How can my girlfriend get out of their contract, and freely pursue the career of model? Is there anyway we can get the money back that we paid for the competition?
My girlfriend cancelled her bank account, so they don't keep take money out of her pocket. Is that okay?
Please help us.
P. S they told us that there are will be famous agencies coming to the SuperStarSearch Competition. Is this true? Since we paid non-refundable money, we might go there. Please, email me and tell me more about these competition.
