Our church purchased a LED full color sign for $43K from the TheLEDsigncompany. They quoted one sign and eight months later delivered a different sign from ADSTAR (their own brand) with software on a laptop computer. After one month of use, the software would not open for changing the sign. We called and got a special code to enter into the software. A month later, the same thing. The third time we tried to call with no answer. Now we can no longer make changes to the sign.
Upon searching, we determined that the LEDsigncompany has filed bankruptcy. They are delinquent in paying many of their suppliers, including the Vantage Sign Company who made our sign. Upon calling Vantage, they indicated that they only deal with distributors and referred us to one of their current distributors. This distributor is now offering to sell us the software and parts as needed for our sign.
This sounds great, but the price is $150/month and we have to sign a five year contract. This is a $9,000 deal for what we were promised to be included in our original purchase price. Software, software upgrades and free maintenance for five years. This is a RIPOFF!
