In I received a call from Impact Telecom claiming Qwest was switching its local and long-distance customers to Impact Telecom in order to lower customers' bills. I made the mistake of switching then and received much worse service without much savings (maybe a dollar or two.)
I switched back to Qwest in 2008. Today, I received a call from Impact Telecom with the same claim about Qwest switching its customers. I contacted a Qwest operator, who confirmed Qwest wasn't doing any switching.
I have filed a complaint about this deceptive sales technique with the Federal Trade Commission.
