It's amazing how a company that advertises that they have no contracts and that all of their services are pre-paid refuses to refund my money after I ported my number back to my original carriers because Metro PCS's customer service SUCKS! I started my service with them on November 12 and by January 18 I was already so fed up with horrendous customer service that I ported my number back to the original carrier.
I paid my Metro PCS bill via the internet on 1/12/09 and on 1/18/09 my old carrier had ported my number back to them. I was told by operator Maria ID# 62433 that I would receive a refund since it was a pre-paid service and that it was cancelled within 7 days of the new month, which clearly doesn't make sense since I don't have a contract for a pre-paid service carrier. Since I don't have a contract and they are a prep-paid service carrier I should be refunded for any prorated unused amount. On this same day I was transferred to Janet ID # 86862 who processed my refund request and took the credit card info which I used to make the payment so that the refund would be applied to that same form of payment. However she couldn't tell me how long it would take to receive the refund.
I waited and gave them more than adequate time to issue the refund and as of 2/13/09 I still had not received a refund so I called them again. I spent over two hours calling, speaking to rude reps in addition to be hung up on and disconnected. I spoke to Fidel #10801 who told me that I wasn't entitled to a refund since I didn't cancel within 3 days, at that time I requested a supervisor and I didn't get his number but he told me the same thing. I requested to speak to his supervisor or directly to the Treasury Dept that handles the refunds and he put me on hold for a long time and then disconnected me.
By this time I was furious. I called back again and immediately requested a supervisor and the first person just disconnected me and then I called back again and spoke to John # 13007, he was very polite and kept trying to get his supervisor for me and stayed in constant communication with me while I waited to them. I finally spoke with a supervisor named Cynthia # 12926 I proceeded to them her that I am a single unemployed pissed off mother with nothing but time on my hands and I am due a refund and I am about to contact an attorney and take them to small claims court over this. I again explained my position that I DO NOT have a contract, I am on a PRE-PAID plan and I am due back the money for any service that was not used. To my disbelief she agreed that I was due a refund and sent an email to the Treasury Dept and the Corp Office, she gave me a new case number and told me to follow up with them in 3 days to ensure that the refund was approved. And she instructed me to immediately request a supervisor.
After all of these hours and frustration I thought that my perseverance had paid off and I was in fact going to get my money back. I waited a few additional days and called back on 2/20/09 to get the same BS from that supervisor, Rick #5805 that my refund was denied since I didn't cancel within 3 days. This is BS, I don't have a contact and it's a pre-paid service how can they say that I had to cancel within 3 days of the new service. Can anyone explain what theory of law that guides Metro PCS? Is there some other law book that they govern themselves on that the rest of us are not privy too? I am disgusted and believe it or not in desperate need of that $48, as much as that sickens me to say but through no fault of my own I have found myself for the first time in my life unable to find a job because of the greed of this countries corporations, banks, investors and wall street!!!
I was getting ready to contact an attorney until I came across this site so I am going to try to call two more times higher up the food chain to resolve this amicably but if this doesn't work I will lay out the money for small claims just to prove my point and then sue them for all the attorney costs, court costs, and stress that they have caused. This type of behavior of these corporations in this country has GOT TO STOP!!!
