I signed a one year membership with Ultimate Introductions. I authorized them to withdraw the monthly payments from my bank account. After the one year contract had expired, they continued withdrawing the funds from my bank account.
I had surgery around the time that my contract had expired and was unaware that they were still withdrawing the funds. Approximately 2 months after my surgical procedure, I noticed that they were still withdrawing the funds from my account. I had the withdrawals stopped by my bank. I then contacted the service (Universal Account Servicing, LLC) that was used by Ultimate Introductions for billing purposes. They claimed that I had signed a 2 year contract, which I didn't, so I requested that they send me a copy of the contract. I never received one. I then started to receive bills from the billing service. The billing statements threatened that it would result in a negative credit rating if I didn't pay.
In addition to the bills, they called me daily at home, work, and on my cell phone requesting payment. Also, they continuously called family and friends that I had put as references on my initial application. The billing statements and phone calls continued for approximately 4 months. I sent many letters and e-mails to the company with no responses.
I finally had to contact the Better Business Bureau. The BBB contacted Ultimate Introductions. They never responsed to the BBB. I did finally receive an e-mail from Ultimate Introductions indicating that they had cancelled my account and that I was no longer liable, but I never received a refund for the amount they illegally took from my account (3 months at $173.74 for a total of $521.22).
In these economic times, $521.22 is quite a bit of money for a single parent. They are an unscrupulous company that should be investigated. I am writing in hopes that this might deter at least one person from using their services.
