Consolidated Resorts Inc
False advertising, sales scam

On September 23, Me and my wife went to Las Vegas for a two and half day vacation.

At the lobby of our Circus Circus hotel the night of our arrival Sept 22, we were called upon by an employee of Tahiti Village which is owned by Consolidated Resorts Inc.

The employee told us that they have free tickets for us to a Cirque de Soleil show if we agree to go to a 2 hour (10 am to 12 pm) presentation and tour of the Tahiti village Resort at Las Vegas Blvd South.

She never mentioned the word sales, otherwise we would not have gone. We were bused to Tahiti Village September 23 at 10 am with around 10 other people.

After the presentation, different agents started to sit by people's tables and Mr Riccardo Barrera, an agent approached us and started talking to us about their company, vacation plans that are cheaper if we buy a Timeshare from them.

We sat throughout his explanation despite our hunger and concern that time is running out to visit the city, plus our plan to drive to los Angeles, the next day. We have to cancel that plan eventually.

Around past 1 pm on the same day, we asked Mr Barrera if we can have at " least a couple of hours " to research about timesharing and double check our finances.

When we mentioned the " at least two hours "to research, he called Danny, his Supervisor (last name unknown) to talk to us. Danny then brought us to a small room across the hall and left us to talk about their offer. Five minutes later they were back with magazines, documents and other papers. Danny then produced photos of his family swimming with sting rays in the carribean to encourage us that we can do the same if we bought a timeshare from them.

Eventually, since we are so hungry and anxious to get out we just said yes to the least priced offer. They offered a lot of choices until it came down to a 1 bedroom moorea unit.

Next thing we know, another lady came in with the contract which she read as fast as she can and made us sign each item. We have no choice, we are hungry and it was almost four hours already. After we signed the papers, they brought some sandwiches and juices for us.

3 days later, we rescinded the contract, since we found out there were resells from the same company worth 1600 dollars for a bigger unit, aside from we will have difficulty paying the monthly installment.

I made frantic calls and email (both recorded on the 26 th September) to the company to rescind the contract. Since my wife left for another province on 26th September to 28th September she was not able to sign the cancellation request. Hence I have to call and email the company on the 26th.

They never accepted our explanation and have now threatened us with foreclosure and credit damage.

We believe we been tricked into this scam and have no way out of it. There are also discrepancies in the contract that have to to be sorted out first.
