In the three months I worked for Adecco as an administrative assistant, my paycheck was received very late three times.
Their stories changed to match the circumstances. First I was told that paychecks are always mailed from New York on Wednesdays, and I would receive them two days later, on Fridays.
With the first late paycheck, I was told even Adecco staff's paychecks were late due to new computer software. The second late paycheck was blamed on the post office (baloney!). The third late paycheck was also blamed on the post office, even after I pointed out that the late paychecks always coincided with a holiday weekend, and that obviously Adecco was letting their employees skip out the door for extended holidays without finishing their work. (Hey, people, I've been working in lots of companies for 30 years, and I know what goes on at holiday time.)
When I called Adecco Rockville, they always say call Payroll, and Payroll always says their computer shows it was mailed Wednesday on time (however, the paycheck envelopes are not postmarked with a date, so who knows for sure?).
Adecco blames the post office, and I don't buy their BS. I have been working as a secretary with first-class mail for 30 years, and I have never had mail delivered this late. Adecco even told me it was my fault because I refused to sign up for direct deposit!
Adecco Rockville told me that "if you don't get your paycheck tomorrow, we can print one electronically right here in the office in an hour." Yet when I requested this service, I was told "maybe we can do it tomorrow." It's just lie after lie after lie with these people.
Beware of adecco.
