I am a resident of the Manhattan Condos in Las Vegas, NV.
In 8/08, a Helix Electric Technician came out to rewire my roof AC to my unit. Apparently, when Helix did the original AC wiring during initial construction in they erroneously crosswired my roof AC to another unit, and vice versa. Only after my neighbor below me moved out, and thus having their power disconnected, did I discover the problem. I went through an outside AC company to diagnose the problem. Then I contacted Helix, who eventually came out and corrected their mistake. Thus, my neighbor and I were paying each others AC bill for over a year due to faulty workmanship by Helix electric.
My issue is with Helix Electric's customer service. I had tried on multiple occasions to at least seek reimbursement for the outside AC service I used to diagnose their seemingly avoidable mistake. I called the local office multiple times, and left messages with actual people. They said that they would relay my message, and that someone would call me back. Of course, no one did.
I believe it would have been appropriate for them to at least return my call, and if not offer reimbursement for someone else diagnosing their mistake, at least an apology that they screwed up during construction.
Bottom line: Helix Electric makes mistakes, which everyone does at times, but their customer service is what would make me think twice about future investments in properties wired by them...
