I have also had a terrible time with this company. My wife and I were having a hard time finding a place in our price range. Getting desperate we tryed this company out hoping they would have great places to live under their contract.
Every apartment we looked at was a dump and we were better off using Craigslist. We ended up finding a great place through Craigslist and faxed over all the paper work for our "full" refund. Nov 25th the fax was sent off. Here were are in late Jan 09 and I have just received my "half" of the money I gave at the start of the contract with SDProperties.
During our enrollment with the company they swore if they couldn't find us a place or we found a place without their help they would refund us fully. Sounded great. Well now you know the truth. When I asked about why I didn't recieve a full refund they said they kept a non refundable portion and I got a full refund of the rest. Nowhere does it say that on any of the paper they give you but aparantley on the contract you sign it says so.
I hope after reading this you will think twice before using San Diego Properties and just spend a little more time with Craigslist. There is nothing special about this company and after your first visit and after you look all the properties on the list you have selected you are back in the same position you started off in, just 118$ burned. Keep looking on your own and happy house hunting.
