ICM Marketing Group
Pressures people to spend money to list their property on their website

This company portrays itself a "full service marketing" firm interested in finding buyers for people who want to sell their timeshares—people who have usually paid too much for the time share already

If you have signed up with this company within the last three days you have a limited time to cancel — — remember statute 201.7 is in your contract pertaining to telemarketing sales— you have three days to cancel!!!

Before you hire this company— please visit www.tug2.net

The first question they ask all potential "clients" is "Are you looking to buy another week at your time share resort at a discounted rate?" Of course 999 people out of 1,000 people say, "NO! I am looking to SELL my time share."

Then later on in the pitch, when the prospect realizes that this company demands an upfront fee for merely listing their time share and begins to balk at the exhorbanent fee— they refer back to the fact that they asked in the beginning if they were interested in BUYING additional time— this is supposed to show that this company is actively looking for BUYERS when in reality they are just using it as part of their pitch— for getting past objections.

I suppose they may refer the occassional stray buyer to their website when one happens onto their radar screen— but the reality again is that this company is only looking for sellers to list their time share with them at a rate starting at $984 (of course you will be offered the "discounted rate" rate of $984 instead of the usual $1284 because they have a "great demand for your property"— they say that to everyone—everyone likes a bargain— and it gives someone the false impression that they will have success in getting their property sold— because it is in such "great demand"

They'll tell you they "don't have any units of your size at that resort" and they "really want to get it into their inventory" if you hym and haw about the price they may say something like this— "Let me see what I can do for you" — they will put you on hold while they get the T/O (take over) guy or girl to close you— remember they don't make a dime until they get your credit card number

The T/O guy says — "Hi Jerry, this is Mike, I am the inventory manager (or some other made up title), so-and-so says you are motivated to sell your time share today but something is holding you back—how can I help?

At that point the T/O will re-emphasize everything the first guy told you— how they will continue to market your property until it is sold — the 100% money back guarantee— which means very little— the guarantee is that if you sell your property within 20% of the Original asking price through another company then ICMMG will refund your money — no questions asked— believe me & whatever your asking price is it is very difficult to resell a time share— there are too many used ones on the market— again— this company is like every other company that is a LISTING COMPANY— they take your money — put a for sale sign up on their own web site — and forget about you (the guy who paid $984)—
they say they are not a listing company— they claim they are a full service marketing company, but a rose by any other name is still a rose (except we are not talking about roses here— we are talking about glorified con artists who albeit may work within the law— are dishonorable in their business practices

They will also say something like this to finish the deal— if I was to defer the marketing fee for now until the property sell? I just need to have the money for the transfer of the deed etc now.— or— if gave gave you a financial incentive so I can get this property into my inventory? Would you hire us today to market your property? At that point they have you worn down— you are desperate enough to listen to them and you just want out of your time share — they'll offer you $692, $492, or $399 to get this done today

Do yourself a favor— if your have been lured in by this company — complain to the Pennsylvania attorney general or a state rep from PA to try to shut these types of companies down - I am sure that this company is licensed and bonded but that does not make them reputable
