Scout Relocation quoted me 700 dollars for a 5 man crew to move my 4 bedroom house, after thoroughly describing what they were moving and doing a walkthrough, i signed off on the written quote of 700 dollars.
They showed up in a Enterprise rent a car - RENTAL TRUCK (Red flag even noted on THEIR OWN WEBSITE!) and brought boxes that were from the trash of various big store companies. Although i supplied my OWN PACKING MATERIALS and BOXES, they later tried to charge me outrages amounts for packing materials.
At the final destionation, they said you need to pay us 6,000 dollars right now or we are leaving with your stuff. THIS IS EXTORTION.
I had to call the police, they wouldnt step in because i had signed blank contracts which included a packing materials sheet that was again - BLANK, to where they later tried to fill it in with as much as they wanted to charge me.
We arrived at 7 pm. Cops were called and stayed till 10 pm, which the company could not answer the officer's questions about how the price went frmo 700 to 6000, but intsead the guy took a half hour making up charges and adding them up for the officers. How do you know to charge me 6,000 dollars if you only started writing it out when the officers ask you for it? SCAM ARTISTS!!!
They argued with their office back and forth until midnight, where they finally got my credit card authorized. SIX HOURS AFTER WE ARRIVED, after forcing me to wait over an hour to check that my credit card went through for the extorted 6,000 dollar amount - they unloaded my stuff, broke my pool table and left.
Now searching the internet, there are several reviews from other people on 123movers.com, yelp, and other websites that show that i am not the only person this has happened to. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!
Anyone else that has experienced EXTORTION by this company, please contact me at for further prosecution with law enforcement and state officials. I will be pursuing this in court.
