I've had the insurance for over 2 years for my 16 yr old dog. He got very sick on 1/1/09 with diarhea, blood, lethargy. I called Banfield, which was closed, and was referred to a emer. Hospital on L'ville-Suwanee Rd.
I called, got directions and rushed him in. They don't accept the insurance, told me maybe Banfield would "work something out" with me. The first quote for treatment was $740-$850. When I looked at the quote, they were going to run expensive tests when the Vet had already said he had all the signs of HGE. I told him treat for HGE, nothing else. The quote came down to $600.
He had taken off the expensive test for a modified test. When I picked Shiloh up the next morning I paid the difference of the bill, but when I looked at the recept I had been charged for full test. Oops, they said, just a oversight.
I went to work, came home and realized Shiloh still had the catheter for the IV under the bandage on his leg. I called the Hosp., got no help. I took him to Banfield to have someone help me remove the tape and pull out the cath. They wanted to do a complete exam, possible tests... I just wanted someone to help me take it out poperly. After going thru the checkin, we waited approx. 25 min. While waiting I started slowly removing tape. It took me all of 2 minutes. I pulled the tube out, wrapped him up and left.
I will cancel the so called insurance. It's a joke.
