We paid Anastasia Stevenson approximately $9,000 to be the wedding planner for our daughter's wedding. Our future son-in-law called off the wedding 2 1/2 months before the wedding date. We had just sent in our contract with the final payment (cashier's check) to secure Anastasia as the wedding planner. We had not chosen the decor, the food or even told her how many people we were expecting. She refused to refund any of our money.
Our contract does not state that the money would not be refunding in the event the wedding were cancelled. The wedding was cancelled 2 1/2 months in advance. This should be sufficient notice since there was nothing Mrs. Stevenson had been authorized to spend the money on at that time. She refused to refund our money and then refused to answer our phone calls.
We have filed suit in the Magistrate Court against her but so far the court has been unable to serve her with papers. Apparenlty we are not the only ones who have been ripped off by this woman. Check out the Better Business Bureau. She has 8 cases against her all of which are unresolved! Beware if you are planning a destination wedding to Savannah or Tybee Island, Georgia. Find someone else to do your wedding.
