I too was ripped off by Lawrence & Associates. Just like everyone else, I received the email that they could not service my account and that "outstanding financial issues" would be handled as soon as they could. The check they sent me bounced and they owe me about $15,000 total. These people obviously planned this whole scam and knew they were not going to pay landlords long before collecting the August rents. A former employee admitted to me that they knew there was a problem in July but that the owners of the company told them not to worry.
I highly reccomend that you file a police report if you have not done so already. You can just add your info to the report that I filed as many other owners have done. We should also contact as many media outlets as possible so that these people wont be able to just set up shop in another state and do this all over again. Stacy is from Dekalb, Illinois so if any of the landlords that got ripped off have contacts there, spread the word. If you live in Boise please contact the local media and try to get this story published/aired. These people need to have their lives disrupted as all of ours have been.
