Target Corporatio, Venturer Electronics, Alco Electronics, 1800customersupport.com Target Corporation part of Nationwide Scam to Defraud TV Purchasers

Target Corporation sells its own brand of Television and entertainment products called TruTech. The sets have an extremely long history of early failures. Hundreds of reports are available online and on their own website at Target.com. I've collected over 30 pages of reports myself. Many of the reports cover the 19 inch TruTech model PLV31199S1 TV/DVD/PC Monitor which is still on the shelves of their stores but is not presently offered online. On the day after Thanksgiving of 2007 Target put this TV on sale at a very attractive price and they quickly sold out. Many were bought for Christmas gifts, thus many boxes were not opened until late December or later.

Generally electronic equipment of this type has a 12 month manufacturers warranty associated with it. On November 14 I visited several Target stores and asked about how long the warranty is on these sets. I was repeatedly told it is for 12 months.

This is not true. The warranty from the manufacturer is for only 90 days starting from the date of purchase. The customers buying the set as a Christmas gift had used a third of their warranty by Christmas. They had also lost a third of the time they could have returned the set for exchange, refund or replacement.

In December and later into 2008 hundreds of sets failed. After 90 days Target would not help the customer. The supplier was almost impossible to find, charged a large repair charge since they considered their warranty exceeded and hundreds of customers were and are left with defective merchandise that no one will stand behind. This is not a matter of someone being cheated of a dollar or two - most could absorb that loss.in each case the loss has been hundreds of dollars and its still going on.

Hundreds of former Target customers have publicly avowed to never enter a Target store again - they were caught in a continuing scam that is still going on today. Target got their money and didn't stand behind their product. Their suppliers also failed to fulfill their promises. And Target is still telling prospective customers that the sets have a 12 month warranty which they do not.

I and hundreds of others will be glad to take part in a class-action or other action to get some satisfaction. Yes, I have a set that never worked. I took too long to open the box and to discover that the warranty was only for 90 days and I'm left with a very expensive piece of junk.
