Allegiance Moving Solutions
Dishonest Moving Company

I hired Allegiance Moving Solutions for a local move, which I estimated for about 6 hours. The rate I was quoted was $89 an hour, which was reasonable.instead of immediately moving the furniture onto the truck, the movers spent four hours wrapping my sofa, loveseats, dressers, chairs, etc. (I had two bedroom sets, one sofa, one loveseat, one chair, a computer desk with a chair, dining room table, 6 chairs, china cabinet and numerous boxes.) I told the movers that there was no need to cover my non-glass items. They said it was their policy and they were required to cover every thing. I said I was willing to sign a waiver in case anything got broken so they could begin to move the furniture onto the truck. I actually started carrying items out to the truck myself. They refused stating they must cover all items.

I called Allegiance and complained that four hours had passed and nothing had been moved onto the truck. One of the movers took the liberty to remove clothes from my closet and packed them in their wardrobe boxes, without my consent, knowledge or permission.

After 6 to 6 1/2 hours hours, the movers began to transport my items to the new destination, about 40 minutes away. Upon arrival, the movers said I must settle my bill before they could unload the truck. I was handed a bill for over $1,900, of which $1,000 was for their packing items! I told them that I would not pay them almost $2,000 for a local move. I neither ask for nor was given the option to accept or decline their packing materials but simply was told it is part of the move.

The lead mover called his boss named Gary and told him about my refusal to pay the inflated bill. I spoke to Gary and he told me that if I did not pay the bill in full, he would keep my items. I refused to be intimidated and cheated by this con. Gary told the lead mover that if I would pay for the total hours they spent on the job, they would unload the truck. I complied and gave them my credit card number. The movers brought in a few boxes.

After the funds cleared my bank, Gary instructed the movers to demand the remainder of the $1,900 or they would keep my furniture. I refused to pay his ransom. The movers kept all of my belongings, furnishings, priceless family momentos, clothing, food, eveything that I owned. The next day I contacted the Santa Clara County District Attorney and told them about Allegiance and Gary's unscrupulous business practices. The district attorney told me to fill out the paperwork so that they could begin an investigation for consumer fraud.

I called Gary at Allegiance and told him that I had contacted the D.A. About his unethical business practices. Gary then made an offer that if I paid an additional $500, he would have the movers deliver my goods. For fear of having my items auctioned off due to the time consuming process which was explained to me by the D.A.'s office to investigate, I reluctantly accepted Gary's deal.in total I had to pay about $1,300 for a local move! This company should be investigated for fraud. I am sure they have conned many unsuspecting, vulnerable clients with their deceptive business practices.
