Get world wide inc is nothing but a pyramid scheme scam! I applied for a job there September of this year. I applied for this job on career builder because it talked about sports. I knew nothing about this company besides it's horrible website showing companies it represents. I was called the day after being congratulated and invited in for an interview. I came in for a "preliminary interview" and sat down with the "manager" Adam Robinette. This guy came off as arrogant and unprofessional. The interview lasted MAYBE 5 minutes that involved him showing me an Indians certificate and showing me a map on a wall with thumbtacks on it. Never once asking me anything about my skills. At the end of this ridiculous interview, I was asked to come in for a 2nd interview to follow one of their top account managers around. I recently graduated from college and didn't have a job so I agreed to come in the next day. I came in and I sat in the lobby with scumbag looking people that looked like they just walked outta a dumpster that was asked to come in for a 2nd interview as well.
After waiting in the lobby for almost an hour, I was brought in a room with 5 other people with Adam the manager. I was paired up with a person that looked like just woke up and said I would be shadowing this top acct manager for the day. I asked what we were going to do and the guy said, we'll talk about it throughout the day. Are you kidding me? I got into a car with 3 other people and the guy lit up a cigarette and started babbling about the cleveland indians. The story made no sense and I still had no idea what was going on and where I was going. The drive lasted about 40 minutes and we parked on the side of a street and was told to get out. Right then I knew what was going on. It was a door to door scam. I then started to get nervous and started asking questions. The guy told me that it's a small part of the business. I asked him how long he's been at Get World Wide. He responded 6 months. 6 months huh? This guy has been going door to door for that long? This was a joke! The guy I was with was decent so I decided to hang out with him while he did his job, eventhough I knew I would not take this job. I then started to ask questions about his manager Adam that I met with for my interviews. I didn't hear one good thing about this guy the entire day and was told he doesnt care about his employees. All he cares about is money and being on a top list of some type. To make a long story short, we were out knocking on doors offering out "free" information on Home Improvement things for 8 hours.
At lunch we sold kid books, walking into peoples businesses... interrupting them while they are working. It was embarassing! I was never told once by Adam that I was going door to door for 8 hours. There was a girl that wore high heels in our car ride! I found out at the end of the day that Adam owns Get World Wide... I would never work for a guy like that! Get world wide is a scam! Do yourself a favor and pass on this company!!!
