Owner did not honor warranty

We purchased a golden retriever in 2004 from Shady Pines Kennel. The owner, Dale, gave us a warranty in which he would reimburse us for any health expenses we incurred if there was anything wrong with our puppy.

Two days after we brought her home we had to rush her to the White Plains Emergency vet office. She was vomiting, had diarrhea, was larthagic and had a runny nose. They kept her over the weekend and had her on IVs. The cost was $1000. We contacted Dale about reimbursement and he said to send him the bills and a copy of the warranty, which we did. But, we never got reimbursed. We made numerous phone calls. He was never available. The one time we did reach him, he told us to again send him all the information (which we did) and still we never received reimbursement. WHen we finally reached him a third time he told us to "get in line with the rest of the people wanting money". We ended up returning the dog who was still ill. He let us exchange her for another dog, which happened to be less money and didn't reimburse us the difference.

Horrible place. Terrible to do business with.
