Public Storage
They steal your belongings before the auction then charge you again for your belongs that they stole

I had my things at Public Storage - Self Storage
(800) 887-2926-1395 Pleasant Hill Rd, Lawrenceville, GA. My storage got behind my things has been in storage. I had become very friendly with the front desk person/asst. Mgr. About my storage. Well it was at a point of going to auction and I had told the young lady (shawn) that I was unable to pay but I can give her $450.00 because she said with fees it was going to be $973.00 and I said you know it's not that stuff in there from an auction point of view. Being that once Its at auction no one can go inside just bid by looking at it.

I told her of things I had in it that meant a lot to me. Trying to find another way to be able to get my things. I suggested that money and payment plan she said no.
I called the home office and ask if I could let someone else know of the auction they informed me that I could do that as long as I am not at the auction because I would be able to be on the property.

The night before they close approximately 30-45 minutes before closing. Shawn gives me a call to see if I had a payment that night because my storage might be auctioned. I had not seen any public notice in the paper, or rec'd a certified notice yet. I wasn't sure to believe her anymore she begin to get personal about my storage.

Well, I got on the phone and call someone from the church and told them this is the money I have for my things can you go bid on it and maybe you'll win because from sight it don't look like good things in there. I told him the number of the stoarge exactly where it was located, and exactly what he'll see when the open the door.

Only one man bidded on it for $50.00 and the storage look so bad that in the group everyone was saying no way. He bidded against the guy and won. It actually was the very first storage they went to. I talk with him after the bidding on the phone.

I went to the storage because I was outside the property after everything was over and what didn't I see!
My dresser, atv electrical cart, bins of linen, stereo equipment, bin of new office supplies, bin of salon appliances, ethnic products, wall pictures, commercial speaker.

The storage roof had fallen in all the insulation that I had been complaining about had fell on all my clothing and things, dead squirrells was in the storage due to the ceiling not being repaired, my art had been ruined due to the water coming in from the roof, when it rains the insulation got wet and busted throught the white lining on top, so when the rats, squirrels run across the top the fall in and die.

It was awful and nasty to see squirrells in my clothing boxes on top of things, molded and fuzzy. I couldn't believe that they would call me just before THEY DECIDED to auction my storage and steal what they wanted which made my storage less valuable and then I'm told I will be turned over to collection for the amount they didn't receive at the auction to cover my balance.

I consider it theft by deception. If I had all the things their and furniture I may have been over what I owed. I know the stereo system was a thousand dollars.

I called the district manage and he said give him a week well it's been about a month so I guess if you place your items in the storage. They are going to make big two ways.By stealing and enjoying your property and getting paid for it while it sits in their home or sold for their profit.

I asked him to look at the cameras because no one could walk out the storage with these items they had to use a truck. But his response was if they were working that day.
I never been in that office in the whole year I was there and seen the cameras not recording the property— not once.

I want this to be known because I know I'm not the first or will be the last. This is a sad scam that is going with this storage place and something should be done about it. We trusted them with our belongings and they take advantage of you as if you had junk that couldn't be sold because it your storage isn't sold the way you left it.
