Not honest and kept all of deposit unfairly

I moved out of this place May 31st of this year.By law you have to give someone a letter saying why they kept your deposit or give your deposit back. We waited for over two months for a letter or our deposit back. I called and called and the person always said the manager wasn't there and she'd leave a message. I never got a call back. When we moved into the place the carpet was ruined, red stains down the hall and some bleach spots, and they said they couldn't get it out.

So after two years living there, we moved. I finally got a hold of the manger, which is a real uncaring person, and she said they were keeping the security deposit because there were pet stains on the carpet (which was already ruined). I told her our pets rarely had an accident and we cleaned them up promptly when they did. She said they go thru the place with a BLACK LIGHT and if there are any stains they keep your deposit and plus she said the place smelled of urine. The urine part pissed me off the most, because that is a total lie and how can she say that when she isnt the one going into the apartments after people move! Our place did not smell of urine one bit! I told the people that helped us move that and they said that was ridiculous claim and a lie! For one with the no stains and she meant not only visible stains but ones you cant see with the naked eye is crap. I mean you cant allow dogs and expect them to never ever have any accidents! And it makes me so mad because there was never any visible stains on the carpet from a few pet accidents, just ones you have to get a black light to see.

That is not fair at all that they keep the entire deposit for that! She also said that there was a bleach stain on the carpet, which there was and I wouldn't have had too much of a problem them keeping a portion of the deposit for that. She said well, we could have charged you $1100 for the whole carpet. That is totally BS, and then the lady said, well i'm not going to argue with you about this.

This new manager is terrible, she seems to have a real attitude. She DOES have to talk to me about it, I have a right to dispute the charges! There was a lady there, I'll call her D, she was the nicest manager/assistant manager ever. She was so helpful and caring. She explained things to you if you didn't understand why the management did something. So sad she is gone now and they replaced here with an uncaring, sometimes rude person.

I told her by law we were suppose to get a letter in 30 days and we did not. She said oh ya we sent the letter a while ago. She did not, I checked the mail everyday and we never got one, and I know our mail was forwarded as soon as we moved. The manager, I'll call her C, and she is the one who is uncaring and has a smart mouth sometimes. Watch out for her. I warn you don't have pets even though they allow them. That is there way of ensuring they will get your deposit when you move! I just do not think it is reasonable to think there will not be any accidents whatsoever if you allow pets, especially if you live in the apt for a few years. This manager said oh ya, she's seen places that have pets and there isn't any stains at all on their carpets. That is a lie and she knows it! Obviously she doesn't own pets or is just an ignorant person.

Did I mention when we first moved in the place wasn't even all the way cleaned, the washer and dryer was a mess with detergent all over it. A cleaner came in a cleaned it up when we were gone. Then we realized, when we turned on our stereo which was near the outlet but not plugged in, she used it while she was there! That is not right to use someone elses stuff like that. I mean, she moved it, plugged it in, and changed the station to some hip hop stuff. We told the manager, and there like ya, she does that all the time. What'! You know about it and don't do anything!

Anyway, basically... Stay away! The place was ok when we lived there but they will kick you in the butt when you move!!!

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I just don't want anyone else with pets to totally get screwed out of their money like I did.
