We called Victoria's Bridal Couture to order a wedding dress.in my initial contact I asked for a quote and for them to make absolutly certain they could obtain the dress before we orderd it. They replied with a firm price and delivery date. I then ordered the dress and they collected full payment up front. They then sent a reciept for the order followed by a contract for the order which I had to sign before they would process the order. I signed the contract and recieved acknowledgement of the contract. My credit payment was processed.
A week later the sent me an email stating that if I wanted the dress I must now pay them two hundred dollars extra. They stated that the dress was discontinued by the manufacture one week prior to my asking for the quote and delivery date.
I offered to split the difference between them, the manufacture and myself. Then wrote back saying the increase was really three hundred dollars and the were already eating one hundred dollars of the amount. Either pay the additional amount or no dress.
This place is a rip off. If the dress was really discontinued they should have known that before they gave the price quote and delivery date. It appears they give one low ball price to get you hooked then try and get the extra mony from you once they have taken the order. The order states very clearly that it is non-cancelable after 24 hours by either party. They seen to depend on the fact that no one has set a small claims court for the internet so there is nothing you can do about it.
