Tasha, night Mgr, Mo, Photo Clerk, And Store Mgr. Walgreens has questionable sales promos and consistently overcharges their customers

At approximately 10:15 last night (Wednesday, August 6), my husband and I had put one of Walgreen's promotions to the test. Walgreen's is notorious for stating one price by a product and charging another at the register. Also, they will charge you full price for sales items or items that have a coupon in their sales paper. If you are lucky, you will encounter a clerk that will enlighten you on the coupon (which usually is right near the register) but mostly, you are out of luck. You can't imagine how terrible it was to school shop and try to remember all of the prices on the shelf because you know they are going to ring up differently at the register. My receipt was longer than my arm for $50 worth of stuff due to the clerk having to correct the prices.

Well, I put one of their promotions to the test. They posted a coupon in their weekly sales paper for 1 free photo processing. The coupon stated Limit 1 roll'One coupon per order'. No reference to per visit, per household, or per store. Well, earlier in the day, I took 1 roll into another Walgreen's close to my job and witnessed another customer getting 4 rolls processed with 4 coupons and I asked the clerk if multiple rolls could be processed and she responded by stating as long as the name, email address and phone number was different that each one could be processed using 4 coupons. So I went home and gathered all of the photos that I had been meaning to develop (approximately 19 rolls... Since I've gone digital, I've slipped off a bit. Anyway, I called all of my friends to ensure that I could use their information to get my photos processed. They all agreed.

Now, having been in retail for many years, I know that the coupon was mostly a marketing tactic to increase business, which is why I used legitimate and real information for each coupon. This way, Walgreen's would send my friends coupons for future savings which means increased sales for Walgreen's. Well, needless to say, I was rudely told numerous times that the coupon was one per household and that I could only use one. The nightly manager more or less argued with me and kept me waiting for a long period of time while she called her upper manager and the other store that I told her accepted multiple roles. I even asked her to verify the information I wrote on the coupons to see that these were real people. She told me that I could come back the next day to talk to the store manager and see if he would approve it but the coupon was clearly 'one per household'. She basically sent me packing.

My problem is the coupon rule was not placed on the coupon or anywhere in the sales paper and it was only good for Wednesday. So coming back the next day was not an option. Also, there is no information in my name, email address and phone number that tells you of my household, so clearly this was a self-imposed bogus rule. The photo clerk told me that each one of these people would have to visit the store themselves. Uh, not true. The worst part is I practically had to beg them to take 3 of my photo rolls (one that I was paying for and the other 2 for myself and my husband with the coupon).

As my prescription history and bank statements would reveal, I have spent thousands in Walgreen'sand I would go so far to say that some of that has been as a result of incorrect pricing at the register. I have only been in Georgia for almost 3 years and already, I probably have easily spent $1500 - $2000 per year at this particular Walgreen's. I would say that 8 out of 10 times, my Walgreen's receipt is incorrect which is another problem in itself. This particular Walgreen's is one that I shop at least two times a week.

I found the night manager and the photo clerk to be very rude and I am very upset about this experience. I also plan on doing something about this as I have several receipts reflecting incorrect pricingone I even proved last night when I complained to the manager and photo clerk. I asked them to ring up 2 items that were marked 2 for $1.50 and sure enough they rung up $. 99 apiece as I knew they would. So when I was quoted the amount to pay, I asked them to verify the price. After searching for Walgreen's issues on the internet, I see that the problems I have experienced are not uncommon for Walgreen's. I would bet they rake in millions due to overpricing.

Now I can imagine they why they would not want to honor my coupons, but I didn't write the wording on their coupons and I am sick and tired of companies scamming consumers, but never owning up to their mistakes or being accountable for misleading sales/promos.
