When you have a bad feeling about something, please go with that instinct!!!
I've been reading up on these posts, and everybody has the same story. Mine is no different.
I replied to an ad that I found on.
"Receptionist Needed. Looking for someone with fun and flair. No exp. Neccessary needed. 732-764-6868."
So I called that morning, and the person who answered the phone told me that they were doing interviews that day and were trying to fill the position that day. She told me they were doing interviews, and asked could I come later that day. I told her sure.
When I got there, it was a regular office looking area. I talked to the "HIRING MANAGER", and she told me the good news. They were looking for entry level managers to run branch offices and said after the 6-8 week training period I would be running an office making $30,000 a year to start. I said "GREAT."
They said they would be doing callbacks later that evening to let ppl know if they wanted you for a 2nd interview. I got the call back.
The second interview was a group interview so I wasn't paying attention to the so-called office of it. The manager, named Donnie Zinc, introduced himself and started going on basically about how the economy works. You sell goods and services for montary exchange. He then started talking about a guy, Larry Hahn and how he went from sleeping in the back of his car, to becoming a billionaire by creating Scentura Creations based in Atlanta, GA. Blah, blah, blah.
They offer me the job and I take it. At Monday's meeting they started handing out a list of perfumes and colognes and I immediately knew what the deal was. Your basically going out to sell this nonsense.
Where I live in NJ, they've been doing this for years. I know because in the hood you can get fake stuff anywhere, and I remember buying it some years back.
As the week goes on I notice that there are fewer ppl that started because, who really wants to do this? I stayed because even though I went out with the older ppl, I stayed in the car to watch them sell bottles. Plus the ppl that worked there were already full of drama. It made me laugh.
On the last day of my first and only week, I had hooked up with a girl that had been there just one week before me, and she told me the game that these ppl were running. And it's all true. I decided to take her advice and look around on the internet to see, and look what I found!!!
Please, please read the stories that you find. Go with your gut insticts. These ppl will sell you a dream so that their dreams will come true!!!
