This so called office, OTB Management, is a branch of Larry Hahn's Scentura Creations. The 2 branch managers, Byan and Ericka, are what you call MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKERS. Here's my story... I saw their ad on the Greensheet (also posted on Craig's list): OFFICES OPENING. Help needed asap. New branch looking to expand. Seeding 20-25 people to help with new offices in the field of customer service. Fun fast paced office. No experience needed. Will train. Positions filling fast. Call today! 713 677-0197. Anyhow I called and got the interview. On my first interview I noticed 6-8 people waiting for their interview. Bryan took us in by twos. Bryan BRIEFLY and QUICKLY explained about the business, and mentions Larry Hahn how he started with some $ he had saved and some borrowed on selling wholesale goods, such as refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, etc. After that he asked a few rate yourself on a scale of 1-10 over confidence, honesty, hardworking questions and interview was done. What I thought was funny after looking back was he (Bryan) never mentioned it would be a perfume industry that we would be "working" for.
On my 2nd interview, Bryan directed us to this room where they had about 30-35 of us. This interview took about 2 and a half hours where Bryan went a bit more into depth about the business. Here is where I learned we would be working with perfumes. Perfumes were briefly mentioned. Bryan mostly kept telling us how they were going to train us to become like he and Ericka, branch managers that would open other offices and have our own "crew". After going home that day, I started to do some research on OTB Management, but had A LOT of difficulty finding it. So after supposedly being "hired", I went back Monday May, 11 2009. After so many FLAGS I kept getting in my head from hearing Ericka talk and MOTIVATE us, I decided to go home and get the REAL information. I finally had the name Scentura Creations from a list of perfumes they handed out to us that they wanted us to try to sell. It was a contest that they claimed if we sold the MOST bottles would receive $800 BUT the group was to sell 170 bottles in order for that person to get the $800.
Once I did ALL the research on Larry Hahn and Scentura Creations, I was convinced that this is a PERFUME SCAM!
It's funny how the few family members I told about it were very skeptical about this. They tell you by the end of this 6-8 week training program you will sign a $30K contract that you're stuck with for a year. They also tell you there is NO SET HOURLY, WEEKLY PAYCHECKS. What does that really mean? You get CHUMP change for SELLING rendition perfumes!!! Its a commission pay! You will not sell much after customers begin to realize that these perfumes are not the real thing. The office atmosphere when you arrive is LOUD! They will have a stereo system bumping the young hip hop music before training or interviews start. They teach you about selling to FFAAR-family, friends, associates, acqaintainces, and relatives. They also tell you about these lavish vacations/meetings you get to take! BE AWARE everyone in Pasadena and surrounding areas!!! Bryan and Ericka have their MOTIVATION SPEECHES prepared! They know exactly what to say to you and go around what you ask of them. Please everyone do a research on this!!!
