My wife received a call a few weeks ago from Telecom USA stating they were biling us for some collect calls that were received from our phone number. She explained they were not received at our location because we were not home at that date and time (work/school). They said they would snd the bill and they expected us to pay it. The bill came today and I know for a fact we did not receive these calls.in fact half the numbers are disconnected and are not in service as of today.
This is a scam if I have ever seen one. I have done some research and it seems many people have been hit with this very same thing. I tried to call Telecome USA but they wanted me to leave my number and some other information and they would return my call. The only information they give is a PO box, and a huge bill due of $107 for 39 minutes of calls that were "received" over 2 days.
How do I proceed from here? I am assuming I need to send a letter to them and the FCC with a complaint but how can make this go away without paying for somthing I did not consume?
