Business 411 preys on busy office managers who get frequent cold calls from businesses trying to get you to switch to their services and don't have the time to research all the listings their company has (I just got a call from AT&T as I was writing this).
My story agrees with all the other postings on Monarch/Business 411. When I asked our IT guy if the bill I received from Monarch was an internet service I wasn't aware of, he emailed me back a link to the complaint posted by Coffey Sound. They are a vendor we work with and their story matched exactly what I had experience. So thanks first to this site for making me aware of this scam before I paid their ridiculous invoice and to people who take the time to post. When I called Monarch to complain, I got right through and they told me I would have to pay because they have the recording of me agreeing to the 2 year renewal of our listing on Business 411. I told them that's great that they have a recording of them scamming me and that I knew their company was actually based out of Quebec, so that they could continue to operate nefariously. We went back and forth for several minutes before I hung up. A second invoice has arrived that notified me that I still need to pay and that there will be 1.5% interest building on our charges until we pay, however I'd never pay this scam company.
