My Story: I paid $1447 via electronic check for personalized matchmaking service on 5/14/08. I have been unable to reach the company since 6/20, after MANY attempts to contact them about my complaints.
Executewashingtondcdating.com is a huge scam. I was guaranteed that I would receive only "matches" of potential companions that were heavily pre-screened and had paid the same membership fee to be a member of Executive Washington DC dating. They sent me only 2 profiles. One of the profiles was a man that when I contacted him, he told me he was NOT a member of Exec. DC dating, and that they took his Yahoo profile and reformatted it to send to me. He was never screened and had never even heard of Exec. DC dating before. Exec DC dating contacted him and told him "they have a friend that he might like", and asked him if they could send my profile to them. That is not the secure, discreet service they guarantee. The man told me he was unhappy they reformatted his Yahoo profile and that he felt I should report the company... Which I am now doing.in essence, they sent my email and personal information from my profile that they guaranteed would be handled very discreetly to a man that was not screened in any way and never belonged to their service: basically a stranger.
The Delaware Attorney General's office is investigating this company now upon my request, and Exec. DC dating has not responded to either of their 2 letters to them. The Delaware BBB is handling the dispute as well: the company responded to the BBB by letter saying they would not refund my money. The BBB is keeping the case open, but cannot do anything tangible.
I have not received any form of communication from Exec. DC Dating since their last email in June telling me I could not receive my money back. I have emailed and left messages over and over with no response throughout the time since I first started having trouble reaching them by email and phone. I have received no profiles since my complaints started, even though I requested more profiles. They guarantee a minimun of 2 profiles every month.
They also guaranteed continual communication with me to ensure I was satisfied, but I have not received any responses to my emails or voicemails (they use an answering service and I was told they NEVER answer their phones themselves). Please note that I have found numerous complaints exactly like mine about Executive dating on varous consumer complaint websites, as well as was told by one of their answering service representatives that they get calls constantly about this same complaint.
THIS IS A MAJOR SCAM OPERATION: they have MANY sites that are "Excutive [filling in the blank with a major city, sexual orientation, etc.] that leads to the same website. THEY ARE DOING THIS NATIONWIDE TO ALOT OF PEOPLE - THEY KNOW WE WON'T PURSUE IT VIA LAWYERS DUE TO COST AND TIME, THEY COUNT ON THAT!
ALSO: http://www.internetstandards.org is apparently a fraudulent site set up to con consumers into trusing Exec. Dating, which has their "GOLD SEAL" indicating a perfect track record with no complaints! This is a total scam operation!
