All Liars - Even With Recording Of Calls Company that lyes to get you into a contract Nationwide

First I had been with DirecTv for eight (8) years and last summer our dish on the roof was damaged so I called DirecTv to cancel our service. They convinced me to place my service in suspend mode for up to one year which I agreed to.

In Feb I received a bill from DirecTv for $80 for service which they had reactivated. When I called in the said they will only suspend for six (6) months but they would credit all the charges and restart my service on the date a new unit was installed. I recorded the convesation with the person from DirecTv when I worked with him to get the service I would pay for along with the channels I wanted.

At thirty (30) some minutes into the call I have recorded him telling me the cost would be $34.99 mo along with six (6) free months free Starz and a free year of DVR service. They installed the new unit on March 8th and that is when the real problem started. They kept trying to bill be for $60 per month and I had to call in at least four (4) times. I was accused of lying about the rate quoted and even told them I had a recording of the conversation whoich I played for them. After two supervisors I thought that it was taken care of.

I recieved a call back from the supervisor saying that everything was all set but he asked me if I would call in every three months to have them reapply the free DVR as he had no way of giving me that for one year. My second bill came in and again they were charging me the higher rate and since I refused to pay them anything untill they got the bill right they turned off my service on May 12th. I again called in to now to another supervisor who told me there was no way they could honor the rate quoted even with a recording.

After another fourty five minute call I asked for the legal department to file a complaint. I then contacted the Att. General office of Michigan and filled a complaint. Their reply was a joke, and said it was all my fault. I then sent a letter to the CEO of DirecTv with all the details of what had happened and I recieved a call from one of the exectives iunder him. I am dissapointed to say that the best I could do was to walk away after eight (8) years. They still do not have my bill right but I am sending a check to them for the two months at $34.99 plus the few extra days.

I believe that DirecTv uses lyes and false statements to get people tp sign up for their service and hope they will just pay the bills. I hope that someone will sue them to get them to stop this.
