Giant ripoff deception lies & more lies promises don't match agreement

Originally, I attempted to exercise my option to cancel my membership within the first 30 days of enrollment, as set forth in the NADN guide to membership. I had reviewed all the materials sent, and listened to all the tapes, and spoke with a liaison and also had discussion with the tax advisors. I informed them in my present situation, there is little that I would gain from membership. I was already keeping the detailed records suggested, and had been operating a side business. At that point, I was turned over to a member of Customer Service, supposedly for an exit interview and to make arrangements for refunding my money.

I was transferred to what is known in the telemarketing industry as a Professional Closer. And he did in fact close me. And, consistent with the history of my relationship with NADN, what I was told and promised is not exactly what was delivered. If it was, I'd already have my money back. He hooked me with a give us one last chance to save you money line, by doing a free tax return, and if I didn't save $3000, I could cancel my membership and NADN would refund my money. What's more, since they were slow, they could do my taxes in a couple of weeks and I'd know whether I was staying or going by April 15, instead of waiting an entire year. So, I said OK, one more try - 3 months instead of 1 year.

It took over 6 months to get my tax return from NADN, and NADN had me paying $130 while my CPA had me getting about a $350 return. I stood at the copy machine and made two complete duplicate sets of data, one for NADN, and one for my CPA. Any missing information that would explain the difference between paying $130 and getting $350 back is somewhere in NADN's offices. And the woman preparing my return informed me that the sales force had been greatly exaggerating their turnaround abilities on tax returns, and there was no way I could have had my return in the 6 weeks promised.

The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing.in my discussions with the Closer, I kept talking about $3000 in tax savings. The new contract mentioned $3000 in new deductions. Not quite the same thing. It's been this way from the start. It also didn't mention April 15th cancellation date we had discussed on the phone. The agreement sent was absolutely NOT what we discussed on the phone, but I'm being held to it, even though I never agreed to it.

And good luck trying to get anyone there to correct it. They can't take your word that they made a mistake, so you'll have to take their word that you are wrong.

Which brings up another irritating point. When I pay someone to work for me, I don't feel I should have to keep a phone log of our conversations in order to bring someone up to speed regarding any problems I'm having with them. I was always getting someone new, who had no idea what I was talking about. Several times I'd been contacted by NADN to set up new info, and I told them I wanted someone to explain why there was such a discrepancy with my returns. I would be told someone will contact me, and it never happens.

When I initially called in to join NADN, the sales person on the phone interviewed me, and was sure I would be tax-free when NADN got through with me. Unfortunately, and I didn't realize this until later, what the sales person was selling was the Tax Ready side of the company, rather than the NADN side. When I stated that I was worried that I would have an audit for year 2000 taxes, due to my wife starting a new business, the sales person agreed it might generate an audit. I subsequently joined thinking I was a prime target for audit. NADN's own personnel have since told me that was unlikely.

I had also sent in 3 years returns for a review, as requested by Customer Service, and still have not received any word on them. When I called in recently to ask how to get out of this outfit and get my wasted money back, I was told the reviews were in my file, but no one could tell me why I hadn't received them.

Frankly, a good portion of their tax saving strategies require me to have children I do not have. I have been promised information about this program or that program, and no material ever arrives. But I did just receive two duplicate packages of material To Our Newest Member:, welcoming me to the NADN family. No, thank you.

It has been one very aggravating experience for me. Too many times I have been told or promised something, only to be told by someone else in the organization that what I was told was wrong, or someone was mistaken.

The bottom line is that they failed to deliver on any of the promises given, and I wanted to cancel my membership, and get my money refunded. The latest explanation is that's not what's in the agreement. Of course not, none of their written agreements (which you don't sign, they just send you a copy telling you that you agreed to these terms) ever match what they promise you on the phone.

The ripoff's owe me $1,312.95 and are telling me I have to jump through this hoop or that hoop. Don't EVER trust any promise they make. They can't remember the lie long enough to put it on paper.

I added my name to the list the Nevada Attorney General is keeping for their lawsuit against the crooks.
