I was lured into Meijer to have my prescription transferred there, as I received a checkout coupon good for $10 upon script transfer.
Although this is not a literal "ripoff", my prescription for blood pressure medicine (Lisinopril-HCTZ 20-25M) 90 day supply came to $79, which is 3x what I am accustomed to paying at the local mom & pop pharmacy. And, while researching prices online, I found that this drug is on the popular $4 drug list at Walgreens and Wal-Mart and various other pharmacies that have this program (for 30 day supply).
So do your pricing research, and don't assume like I did that because Meijer is a big-box store that they have cheap prescriptions. I paid $79 when, with a quick phone call or two, I could find this drug for $12-30 at various other pharmacies.
