I am a current employee and have not gotten paid as of yet.
A few points to look at:
Everything I have read from others is TRUE!!!
(The hiring process, the phone call, even if you don't have the look you will still get choosen, avoiding questions sometimes
etc.)
Let me tell my story and maybe it will help someone.
The staff in the office tells you how big they are becoming, they tell you all the clients they work with (which if you contact them NOT ONE HAS ANY GOOD TO SAY about TCT)
Some off the staff tells you how they started as a scout and how they owned former businesses that they had and they sold.
So that tells me that even if they were scouters before that they had some money to live off of but what about us who don't have the extra money to live off of.
Also they tell you how big this portion of the industry they will redefine and who ever is not around in the process is just going to miss out.
Your hired with about 5% worth of knowlegde about the company and the tell you to go scout, My question is WITH WHAT! You have no acceptable knowledge of the industry you are soliciting for and how can you learn about the entertainment biz in about 2-3 days (the time before they put you out there scouting)
Also they make sign a W-9 for you to get paid, so they don't have to pay taxes and you have to call your tax guy to keep on top of your money (very shady)
Let me say this I too have done my research of the company (after being took for this long but answers were found) and I've found this They started out charging people around $600 and then price went up to $800 $19.95 $75= 5 pictures or should I say $15 for each picture slot on the website or you can hope the so called 1000 agencies that they so called are affiliated with (SEE LINE 6) can make a good enough determination with the one they give you.
I was going to go into more detail but... Oh wha the heck!
When I got hired it simply explained to them that I have no car like the rest of the staff but I am willing to make a few sacrifices to reach my goal but the deal is that people have heard of TCT, Options and Edge and were notinterested,
TCT told me to start getting my numbers up if I wanted to stay on board, so I told them that my enrollments were up to par but they said they I have to have a good amount of shows as well but this is the deal they say get 25 enrollments and we will put you on base pay $600 per week as long as you give them 5 enrollments per week ($800 a pop times 5 =$4000)
They say have at least 25 enrollments during 30 day training period
Also (this is Big) They say: "A compensation bonus is available for any scout with at least 20 shows during a week and meets the goal of 25 enrollments also the bonus is a minimum of $75 for each enrollment during THAT week. Scouts are eligible each week of... Drum roll please - THE 30 DAY TRAINING PERIOD ONLY. They told me to any kind of bonus it's 20 shows at each open call (which is mon, wed, thur 7pm and Sat 1am)
ALSO ALSO ALSO you know I would take up this web site if I kept on goint I forgot to mention that to you
that on payday they had the wrong name on the check and when they were supposed to correct it over the weekend and give to me on monday they tell me Corporate messed up and I'll get it sometime this week Hello BILLS ARE DUE!!!
P.S. It cost me $20/day (which I borrowed) and about 2-2half hours to get to the job. Talk about loyalty. 3 buses and 2 trains
