I purchased a high end mattress from Sleepy's in Bohemia, NY. I was told at the time of purchase that I had to purchase a $119. Mattress cover or my warranty would be void, the mattress comes with a 20 yr non pro rated warranty. I purchased the mattress cover and used it all the time. My mattress is now sagging so bad my husband and I are not able to sleep on it. When I called Sleepy's they sent someone out to look at it... The rep found a small maybe 2" stain on the corner of the mattress. I was told by Sleepy's that because of this my warrantee was void. I used the mattress cover that I purchased from them so I called the company that made the mattress cover and they are sending me a kit to remove the stain. Sleepy's will not replace the mattress, the small stain has nothing to do with the quality, workmanship, or the construction of the mattress which is very poor. The mattress and boxspring are a King size Chatham and Wells and cost me over $4,000.00. I purchased this mattress because I suffer from back problems and was told that this mattress although very expensive would be best suited to my needs. My husband and I are not wealthy and work very hard for our money, we thought that this was a very important purchase being I have back problems and we shouldn't look for the cheap way out... But we are now sleeping on our couches!
This is a warrantee loophole that Sleepy's uses so that they don't have to stand behind their products... I see that from the many complaints I now see on the computer, everyone seems to be having the same problem with the mattress sagging and very deep body impression in the Chatham and Wells mattresses. Sleepy's is not a trustworthy company and people should be warned about their practices. I am going to try again to see where I get with them but if anyone out there has any information or advice they can offer I would appreciate it. I am also going to write to the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs. I don't understand how they can void a warrantee when I did what I was supposed to, I purchased the expensive mattress cover and used it... And a small stain has absolutely nothing to do with the a poorly constructed mattress, from the many complaints on the Internet Sleepy's is obviously aware of the on going problems this mattress has I haven't read one thing about anyone getting any satisfaction from this company. I will not rest until I have received a replacement for the defective merchanise I have purchased from Sleepy's and make as many people as possible aware of Sleepy's Sleazy business practices. With the way the economy is today and with so many stores closing you would think they would take these issue more seriously. Sleepy's is a true Rip Off and should be know as such... I would like to stand in from of their stores and make people aware before they purchase anything from them. Chatham and Wells mattresses I hear are manufactured by Spring Air, I am going to see if maybe they have better business practices I am going to call them to see if they can to anything.
