On 8/10 I rented 2 P.O.D. S moving containers and paid an extra $89.90 for $10,000 worth of moving insurance.
I very carefully packed my moving containers with all of my belongings.
My PODS customer # was 10070586 and Incident# was 201968. Claim# is 082929-38351130.
I moved from Hoffman Estates, IL. To Lake in the HIlls, IL and used PODS to do the move myself. I wrapped every item carefully and placed it into the POD. One of the items I own is an RCA 56" rear projection TV. It was wrapped in moving blanket and tied to the side of the moving container so it would not shift.
When I plugged my TV in it no longer worked. There is no external damage but something is rattling inside. It seems to me that the POD was dropped or handled in a rough way.
I have been fighting with PODS and XN Financial (their insurance company) and they sent me a denial letter. They said "if someone would have dropped your container, they would have reported it". I wasn't born yesterday! Does anyone really believe that?!!
I have notarized statements from family and friends who helped me move and can attest that the tv worked before it was moved by PODS. The value of the TV is $1200 and I want XM Financial and PODS to pay! Why else would I buy the insurance!
Another posting on this site regarding PODS had a rebuttle by PODS which said that if they had insurance it would have been paid for. Obviously not! I'm looking for compensation for my broken TV in the amount of $1200.
At this point I would never recommend this awful company and their scam to charge you for insurance you cannot use!
