I hear a commercial on the t.V. That lowes would give me new carpet for 99 dollars. I went to lowes to pick put my carpet with their employee Bret. I told him I wanted to different types of carpet. He said "okay this will be a different estimate". I said "estimate? I thought it was only 99 dollars, its only 99 dollars right"? He said yes, and assured me the price was the same. HE HAD PLENTY of opportunity to tell me that 99 dollars was only for the installation, and not for the actual carpet. He never told me, AND the commercial never told me! If the commercial was NOT misleading it would have said "99 dollars for installation labor, plus whatever it costs for the materials". Did the commercial say this? NO. Did Bret say this? NO! I called back to complain in a civilized way, without raising my voice or cursing, and explaining calmly what happenned, and DAN the manager hung up on me. I then called TONY and he wanted to pass me off to someone else and said I was being ridiculous. I was not being ridiculous, I HAVE NEVER installed carpet in my life before, maybe I was a little naive, but I would atleast like to think the employees explain themselves to the customers. Do they? NO! Why should I have to pay for an employees mistake? I don't care where LOWES gets the money from, they have plenty of money, give me my carpet and my install for 99 dollars like the commercial said. If they don't budge, I will begin holding weekly protests outside of their store. I am an animal rights activist. So protesting doesn't phase me. I can do it with my eyes shut and one hand tied behind my back if I wanted to, LOWES is going to get ba publicity if they don't correct their mistakes, and dont stop misleading customers.
