We contracted with Morgenthal, Meyers and Sterns to act as our agent to collect a debt. They were to charge us 20% of the total owed to us. They collected the entire debt and told us we would get our 80% by March 15. Between March 15 and April 30th, we called them no less than 12 times and were either given multiple excuses or they did not return our call. We finally resorted to reporting them to the Better Business Bureau of Houston. We received a call from Jason Pappas of Morgenthal immediately after the BBB contacted him. He told us that since we contacted the BBB, he would no longer provide us any information on our money unless he "felt like it". He called us back the next day and told us if we recanted our letter to the BBB, they would send us our money and not until then. We took this as blackmail and informed them that we had no problem writing the BBB to let them know the issue had been resolved, but AFTER we received our money. I personally sent Jason Pappas an email telling him how rediculous the situation was and to simply send us the money they owed us. He replied to my email on May 8 and basically told me that their position remained the same and we would not get any of our money until we retract or letter to the BBB. I have this extortion attempt in writing. All we want is our money. They have had it for almost 2 months.
