I submitted an easy-to-make inexpensive novelty pen that thousands of companies could probably produce. Nothing complicated about it. I was told I.P. & r. Would actively pursue a manufacturer for three years.
I put about $8,000.00 down and strung the rest of the payment out for 6 months. During that six months they called potential customers (I think) averaging out to one maybe even two calls a day. I know because I received a monthly call sheet with a lot of the calls saying they left a message and would follow up. My guess is they put a good three minutes into my invention a day.
When I finished my payments suddenly I stopped getting the monthly call sheet. They got my money so why do anymore work, right? It's been about a year and a half and I've only heard from them once.
At least call me and tell me what resort you spent my money on.
What makes me sooooooo angry is how I could be so stupid — especially in the age of the internet blog. I think I did check them out on the BBB though. I don't remember.
I hope someday I make millions from my inventions so I can throw it in their face and tell them how much money they threw away. For what I paid I could've hired someone for a year to contact potential manufactures and send out brochures.
Be careful. I know you think your invention is great and it'll sell in no time (I hope it does) but not through this company. Don't let your excitement and enthusiasm blindside you while these shitzters talk a big game — cause it's a game you'll lose. I know first hand. I'm still wondering if the call sheet was just fabricated. I know the checks I sent them weren’t. Save your money and contact companies yourself. They suck!!!
