Not So Faithful Movers

Faithful Movers of Palm Coast Florida was a Godsend, or so I thought...

I was scheduled to move from Jacksonville to St Petersburg on April 5 at 9:00 AM. That morning, at 8:45 AM, if I had not called Faithful Movers to give them my new expiration date on my credit card, I would not have realized that they did not have me on the moving schedule for that day. They were unsure if the move was supposed to be the 5th or 7th and the girl I booked the move with was out of the office. I told the woman on the phone that she could have called me and I would have been happy to tell her which day I was moving.

By the time everything was worked out in the office the movers finally arrived at 1:30 PM just in time for all the bad weather that was coming to us from the north. If the movers had been on time, we would have been out of the area before the rain, but as it was we did not leave the area until 6:30 PM that evening. Of course, every time that it rained all moving stopped.

It is a 4 hour drive to St. Petersburg from Jacksonville. Even with the bad weather I made it in 5 hours driving under the speed limit the whole time.

The movers took over 7 hours to get to St. Petersburg, arriving at my house at 2:00 AM Sunday morning. It took only 20 minutes to unload the truck because I had 5 members of my family and I doing the work as the movers weren't moving that quickly.

Once the truck was empty, I filled out the paperwork and signed them out at 2:30 AM and wrote a big note on the contract that I needed to be contacted Monday morning to discuss a discount before they charged my card. They slipped away without giving me a copy of the contract.

I received a call Monday morning from Ms. Yatara Murphy, VP/Owner and told her of the problems with my move. She was happy to report that it only took 20 minutes to unload the truck and I informed her at that time that the only reason it did, is because my family unloaded the truck for the most part. She also let me know that the driver (Chad) was a very slow driver even in good weather. I told her that I should not be penalized for the slow driver or the weather and would pay a total of $575.00 which breaks down to; $100.00 deposit I paid on March 17, $250.00 (3 hour) minimum and 4 additional hours at $65.00 each. She said that my card would be charged $475.00.

Faithful Movers charged my card two times for $475.00 each. I contacted them and told them I wanted them to credit my account $475.00 immediately, which they did BUT while issuing me the credit 3 more deductions of $475.00 each ($1,350.00 total) hit my account. Thank goodness the items were still pending and I had Sheila in the Faithful Movers office contact my bank to stop payment on those Thursday April 9.

Knowing that this was taken care of I did not look at my account again until Wednesday April 16, only to find that $292.50 had been taken out of my account Since then, I have spoken to Ms. Murphy almost on a daily basis asking for a credit for the $292.50 and have not received any satisfaction. As of today, Monday April 21 I have left 3 messages for her and she is not returning my calls.

I do not want to see anyone going through this horrible experience. Please, if you or someone you know is planning a move, avoid Faithful Movers like the plague.
