This report is regarding the NuU location at 7700 W Arrowhead Town Ctr #2025 Glendale, AZ 85308, (623) 334-8100. On 10/3 my husband and I purchased service after a consultation for laser hair removal.
We paid $3022.00 for 6 treatments each. Despite constantly complaining that we were not seeing results, we were not assisted whatsoever. The consultation was misleading, the results were unsuccessful, and the manager is now refusing to offer us any assistance other than possible discounts on a different machine at another location.
After my husband's 6th treatment, he was told he would be given 3 more treatments at no cost, that perhaps because he was darker he may just need more treatments. At my husband's 7th treatment however, the story changed and he was only offered to be sold additional treatments. My husband is a Middle Eastern man with dark hair, and I am a fair skinned American, the only thing both my husband and I have in common in this situation is that we were both treated by the same facility. After my 6th treatment, I once again expressed concerns, and dissatisfaction, and was told to wait 6 weeks, then contact the manager, Maria.
On April 16th, I called Nuu, and explained the situation to Maria she was to look into it and call back, she didn't. I called again April 17th for Maria; she was not in and didn't return my call. I called againshe was not in.
Finally she called and explained to me she spoke to her regional manager and what they can offer us is to sell us additional treatments, using a different machine, at a different facility, at possibly a discounted price. I then questioned why we weren't told about this different machine during the unsuccessful treatments. She then said that sometimes the treatments don't work at all for darker people. I then explained to her that I am as white as they come, and, if that is true, why weren't we advised of that risk during our consultation. She then mentioned that some people just don't respond either due to genetics. Well, my husband's mother, & my sisters have all had this procedure done with great success, so I doubt highly there is something wrong with us BOTH to cause this. The more likely and probable cause is that NuU, and the staff at that location, are fraudulent.
Perhaps their technicians are not properly licensed, trained, or executing procedures, or the machines are not maintained and calibrated properly, or there is little or no system in place to handle and resolve patients who need more aggressive treatments due to unsuccessful treatments, or a combination of all of these things as well as a manager who is enjoying taking people's money and offering them services with no results while giving them no refunds or options whatsoever. It is fraud. It is a scam. The consultation was misleading, the prices were expensive, the results were unsuccessful, the customer service was nonexistent, and the sum of their entire existence is FRAUD. Judging by the internet, there is no shortage of people who were dissatisfied with NuU and their services. Someone needs to investigate this company and get to the bottom of the deception.
We havent even asked for a refund. We paid for laser hair removal, and that's what we would like to see happen. Surely a company who specializes in laser hair removal should be able to treat two loyal customers with respect and quality. It would be one thing is we felt like they tried everything they could to help us and we just weren't having results, but the fact is, despite all of our complaints, they haven't tried to help us at all. There is no reason for them to deny attempting to make things right with us, unless they know already that all they have to offer is fraud.
