It's close to Passover, and as per usual, the quart bottles of Kedeem grape juice are on sale for 99. Being smart consumers, my husband and I know to look out for this.in the past, there was grape and peach grape.
This year, they had a new flavor, pomegranate. Cool, I thought, I checked out the label, and wonders of wonders, the first ingredient _is_ pomegranate, before the grape. I check the shelf price labels, and, yes, it says 99 in two different places on the display. We buy two bottles as well as one each of the peach and grape.
We go pay, and I notice, the total is much higher than I expected. I check the receipt, and discover the pomegranate is priced at $5.29! I rechecked the display and realized, yes, there was a tag for the peach grape and grape, each 99, but none for the pomegranate. I called the manager over, pointed out the problem, and he said I could get a refund. He said there had been a sign earlier in the day but it had disappeared. He could not, however, post a correct price, that would be against "corporate policy".
So, how many other people noticed this scam? How many other stores just "happened" to lose their sign for the expensive juice?
