Dishonest Sales Practices

The company's standard operating procedure from a sales standpoint is to lie to prospects about the availability of their products. I do not mean little white lies in the way a realtor may say, "Well, the market is quite good, and we do have another person who has expressed interest in the property."

I mean full on lies. It's a cold-call boiler room, which in and of itself doesn't separate it from other sales organizations. But its the dishonesty that makes this place a "rip-off". There are invariably tons of disgruntled customers who bought things under false pretenses and duress who are amazed to get to a conference and find out that indeed there was little if any demand for the conference at all. Likewise, event sponsorships and participation levels that were sold to companies under the impression that "an amazing response from the market..." were little more than coercive measures included in a sales pitch to ensure prompt registration, prompt payment, and no return in kind for goods and services.

Furthermore, the group's turnover rate in terms of employees would make your average drive-thru manager blush, as new people come in and out of the door almost every week.

The most telling statistic about Marcus Evans that I know is that I have never once heard of an ex-employee who said, "Wow, that was a great job. I really miss working there."

If you are a prospective employee, do not work there.

If you are a potential customer, do not buy from there.
