In October of last year Suppershuttle Bought out a company that I had worked for for over 14 years, They made everyone feel at ease about the transaction assuring all the drivers that the would make money. So me & a Partner signed up to share a van.
Little did we know what we had gotten ourselves into, We incured these cost that made no sense.
Vehicle Insurance $ 169.23 Per Week
System Fee $375.00 Per Week
BlueVan Leasing fee $177.71 Per Week
10 Yr. Franchise Fee $111.03 Per Week
Airport Fee $100.00 Per Week
Puctra Fee $1.73 Per Week
Keep in mind this is per week, Which Amounts to $934.70 Per Week 25% Revenue Sharing, So automatically Before you make a penny you will owe a MINIMUM of $1,168.37 & THERE"S MORE remember That 25% revenue sharing??? It's 25% of the Gross NOT THE NET so you're paying 25% of your fees as well.
So Let's say you make $2000.00 per week after your fees you will Owe SuperShuttle $934.70 25% of $2000.00 which is $500.00 You will pay $1,434.70 Some of you may say what's wrong with that??? You Made $565.30 WRONG WRONG WRONG, Remember you're an independant contractor, so you pay your own Gas & Bridge Toll, & Maintenance, So Gas Will say an EASY $50.00 per day x 7 = $350.00 Now your left with $215.30 not counting bridge toll If ANY, or your meals per day, DID I FORGET to Mention that your putting in a minimum of 10 to 16 Hours a DAY just to achieve this goal? This Comapany is UNAMERICAN & we should say NOT IN OUR HOUSE! WHERE's HELP when you need it. This company is a complete JOKE!
I Have the Paperwork to Prove It. The reason they can get away with it? The Airport doesn't care, They are the biggest Organization at ALL the Airports, they pay there bills why should they care if the Drivers make a FAIR LIVINIG WAGE, When you look at the drivers 85% can barely speak good English and they are scared that if they abadon the contract supershuttle will come after them and mess up their credit, So they Have NO CHOICE, But Me? Well I'm AMERICAN Born & Raised I KNOW CRAP when i see & SMELL IT.
It is the author's opinion that these are HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS but no one will listen, Not even the ACLU everybodys turned a Blind Eye to these unethical pratices, So I say send SUPERSHUTTLE a message and BOYCOTT their Services & Make them change thier policies & attitude.
The Drivers work hard to take you where you need to go, So Let's show them some support & BOYCOTT SUPERSHUTTLE In April & June, You the Public are the LAST LINE OF DEFENSE.
