I was stupid enough to fall for an infomercial even though I know better. I ordered a book about how to "make millions" in real estate by Dean Grazio ($29.95).
When I called to place the order, the sales person tried to get me to sign up for or purchase other products - she was very persistent! I emphatically stated NO to everything - I just wanted the book.
5 months later I noticed 4 additioinal months of charges on my credit card bill! My AmEx records state that each $29.95 charge was for a "book" - and, believe it or not, the address of this place is reported to be a CONVENIENCE STORE!
The first time I called them someone hung up on me. I have since talked to 2 people who at least listened to me. It was explained that the purchase of the Dean Graziosi real estate book included a "free" forclosure agreement - free for 2 weeks, that is. If you don't call them within 14 days to cancel (hard to do when you don't know anything about it!) you are automatically charged $29.95 monthly!
Don't fall for this! I told them NO to EVERYTHING except the book, and they still made bogus charges! $149.75 is one expensive book!
