I too was the victim of a botched refund from JCPenney's jewelry dept.
I had purchased an ankle bracelet and it broke three times in a month and a half. I had it repaired twice and on the third time I went to the store where I bought it and was asked if I had purchased the insurance for the jewelry.
In my opinion, the bracelet was defective and shouldn't have been sold under the pretense of "fine jewelry"! The clerk asked if I wanted a replacement and at that time, I really didn't want to go throught this again. She asked if I had a receipt for the repair and when I gave it to her she said that she couldn't do anything because someone else had worked on it. So now I couldn't even get a replacement!
The only thing I received when I made this purchase was a receipt. I didn't get any phamplet on fine jewelry or how they go about refunds or returns.
I think JCPenney should at least make the customer aware of whats covered and what's not when purchasing their jewelry.
I definately will not be shopping at any JCPenney in the future and will persuade my friends and relatives to do the same!!
