I had to move my wife's stuff from her apartment and it was too much for me to handle so we got a quote from Allied Movers. The original quote was $300 which wasnt bad for a 2 bedroom apartment. I decided not to do the inventory because they charge by the hour. They took their sweet time getting things started.instead of doing their job they decided to joke around and look at posters inside her roommates bedroom. I watched them carry the dining room table down the stairs and at the bottom they dropped it and knicked it. I saw them rubbing the knick and when they came back up they didnt even tell me about it.
It took 2 hours just to get stuff to the truck, which was only a table, washer, dryer, tv, and a bed. Unloading at our house took just as long. They were carrying the brand new TV and they tripped on the chord and slammed the TV into the wall and just went on like it was nothing. So after about 4 1/2 hours of so called "careful" moving, the price ended up being $500. Apparently they charge from the time they leave the warehouse until the paper is signed which they failed to mention to us in the beginning or anytime during the move.
I tried contacting the company but received no response. The movers were very unprofessional. I will never use Allied to move again. Their new slogan should be Allied: Careless Movers.
